A member of the Pitcairn Islands Study Group (PISG)
since the early 1990s, Steve Pendleton was elected a director of that
organization in 2007. He also served as the managing editor of the The
Pitcairn Log, PISG's quarterly journal,
from 2007 to 2011.
Mr. Pendleton has collected Antarctica plus Pacific and
various ocean isles for more than thirty years. As a retired teacher and
prolific writer, he has published nearly 800 articles for philatelic and regional magazines
and lives in California's Central Valley with his wife of 40 years,
four cats and three dogs. They have two adult children.
Mr. Pendleton's 51-page self-published monograph, Pitcairn Island Nineteenth
Century Mail, updated to 2010, is available for sale directly from the
author. The postpaid prices are $14 in the U. S. and $20
elsewhere. His 75-page Atlas of the Pitcairn Islands, updated to
2010 (with some additional and redrawn maps), is also available for sale from
