Mark Butterline, a graduate
of Rutgers University and the Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of
Management at Cornell University, served as
president of the Pitcairn Islands Study Group (PISG) from 2007 to 2011. He
designed the group's website, www.pisg.net,
and has been webmaster for more than six years. He has contributed a number of
articles to PISG's quarterly journal, The Pitcairn Log, and was the main
organizer of the group's activities at the Washington 2006 World Philatelic
Exhibition.
Mr. Butterline's primary interests in Pitcairn are philatelic (Pitcairn postal
history since 1940) and historical. His exhibit, entitled Pitcairn
Islands First Definitive Series Postal History, won a gold medal at AmeriStamp 2006 in Toronto.
