Dr. Bob Kirk has visited Pitcairn Island as a cruise ship lecturer aboard the
ships Lindblad Discoverer and Discovery World. He is the
author of Pitcairn Island, The Bounty Mutineers and Their Descendants
(2008), A History of the South Pacific Since 1513 (2011), and The
Transformation of the South Pacific, 1520-1920, to be published by
McFarland. His Pitcairn Island history takes the story from the decision
to transplant breadfruit to early 2008. A semi-retired history professor,
Dr. Kirk has lectured on over 60 cruises in many parts of the world since 1986.
He and his wife Barbara live in Santa Rosa, California.
